Sugar

Sugar
came in to Chilliwack Animal Control as a stray in late fall of
2003. She was about 9 months old, underweight, and in rough shape.
She was covered in scrapes and bruises, and had fresh burns where
someone had put a cigarette out on the inside of her legs. Her
rib stuck out where it had been broken, and her feet were red
and raw. Despite the cruelty she's faced in the past, Sugar is
endlessly gentle and friendly, and unfailingly tolerant of children
and people with special needs. Though not the brightest bulb in
the bunch, Sugar's plucky good cheer endears her to everyone.
Sugar has an especially close bond with the little boy who shares
her home, who has autism, and it's a pleasure for the whole family
watching them interact.
