Spunky

Spunky the upside-down-pitty!!! Sometimes there are dogs that deserve a chance in the system even when space is tight, and Spunky was one of those dogs who earned a spot in our program because we just couldn't resist him. Incredibly sweet, snuggly, and gentle, he quickly became known for his habit of instantly rolling over for a belly rub the instant anyone glanced in his direction. If the object of his affections failed to notice him, he would carefully wiggle over and into their laps, giving the gentlest of kisses. At 7 years old, Spunky's adoption chances weren't great, as people looking to adopt most often want a puppy or young adult, not a middle-aged dog. On top of his age, Spunky needed a couple of teeth extracted, which was going to cost a little over $400. However, his warm heart, sweet personality, gentlemanly demeanor and good house-manners made him perfect for a first-time Pit Bull owner, and HugABull vowed that if we could find him a home, we'd pay for his dental work. Not long after entering our foster program, just such a first-time bully owner fell in love with Spunky silly upside-down smile and quickly adopted him. Now Spunky is living it up in his new home in the Kootenay's, going for long walks and getting all the snuggle-time and belly rubs he could ever want.
